PARCC Facts

  • What is PARCC? 

    The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers is a consortium of states collaborating to develop Common Core State Standards (CCSS)-based, computer-based English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA) and Mathematics assessments for grades 3 through 11, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.  These assessments gauge whether students are on track for college and career success. 

    How can parents learn more about PARCC?

    Parents can find useful information and resources on the PARCC website, http://www.parcconline.org/.

    Do students in the middle school who are taking Algebra I or Geometry take the corresponding course assessment or a grade level mathematics PARCC?

    Students in grades 7 or 8 enrolled in Algebra or Geometry will take the corresponding course assessment.  Students in Topics in Algebra or Intro to Algebra will take the grade level mathematics assessment.
