Every Child. Every Day.
Your child’s attendance matters. Regularly attending school is critically important for children to become successful lifelong learners. Frequent absences disrupt the child’s experience, the continuity of the classroom environment, and affect the child’s academic success for years to come. We appreciate your partnership in making sure that your child maintains attendance in the Manville Preschool Program.
The following attendance procedures are in place to assist you in supporting your child’s success in the Manville Preschool Program.

If you or your child are struggling with daily attendance, here are some tips to help support your family:
- Ensure you have a copy of the school calendar and take note of the dates school is in session (and not in session)
- Ensure your child’s immunizations are up to date
- Talk to your child’s teacher or other site administration for advice on how to alleviate a child’s anxiety about going to school or other issues
- Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on family members, neighbors, or another parent to assist in getting your child to school
- Avoid scheduling extended trips/vacations when school is in session. These will be logged as unexcused absences.
- Work with your child’s teacher to try to plan medical appointments around the classroom schedule so your child misses the least amount of instruction.
