Dear Roosevelt School Community,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am excited to be back at Roosevelt School for my 2nd year as the building principal. Prior to being the building principal at Roosevelt, I spent over 13 years serving the Manville School District as a teacher. I taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grades at both Weston and Roosevelt Schools. As a lifelong member of the Manville community, I am honored to continue my journey here by serving the students and families of Roosevelt School!
Roosevelt School is a very special place. The school was built in 1929 and right now serves primarily as our district's 3rd and 4th grade building. Our staff is dedicated and passionate about working with students to help them achieve success in every way possible! We value inclusivity, embrace the responsive classroom approach, and follow a positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) system. We do this through our character education program, The Roosevelt Road. The Roosevelt Road is also tied to our behavior matrix.
This year we are looking forward to bringing back our schoolwide Morning Meeting. This Morning Meeting allows us the opportunity to gather as a school community, establish norms, promote a positive school culture, celebrate student and staff success, and so much more! We will also be continuing our grade level targeted Intervention & Enrichment (I&E) periods to promote student success and learning.
On behalf of the entire Roosevelt staff, we look forward to working together with you this year!
Ms. Alicia Mathewson
