Roosevelt School is a very special place. We serve as the bridge school between our K-2 building (Weston), and our middle school (ABIS). Working with third and fourth grade students and families is a passion for our staff. We emphasize the whole child experience, and dedicate our resources to supporting students as people first and learners second. We embrace the Responsive Classroom Philosophy and follow Positive Behavior Supports in Schools. We do this through our character education program called The Roosevelt Road.

Our Social Emotional Learning Team has been a key ingredient in our dedication to following The Roosevelt Road. Teachers and students lead daily Virtual Morning Meetings. These are pre-recorded videos streamed to each class. Each VMM focuses on key ingredients and reminders on how we can follow our Roosevelt Road Behavior Matrix in what we say and do.

We understand that third and fourth grade students are developing socially, emotionally, academically, and behaviorally. We believe in positive consequences and learning from our mistakes. Our students follow the behavioral expectations and consequences within our behavior rubric. The behavior rubric is located in our Roosevelt School Student Handbook, which is sent out to all families each August. Families sign off on having read and received this important information.

We know our families have work schedules that may interfere with our daily dismissal between 2:40 - 2:50 PM. We offer after-school childcare through our partnership with Middle Earth.  Our teaching staff offers afterschool clubs and activities during the course of each marking period. These activities include Art, Coding, Cooking, Environmental Awareness/Appreciation, Intramurals, and Youth in Action. Our Roosevelt School PTA hosts special evening events for our school community.

At Roosevelt School, we are always looking for ways to learn and grow collaboratively. Please reach out to me directly with any questions, comments, or concerns. Stay in the loop with all the great things happening in our building by following us on Twitter (@rooseveltcolts) and Facebook (Roosevelt School).
