Mrs. Amanda Wilde

Hello! My name is Amanda Wilde and I am looking forward to another great year at Manville High School!

I have a BA in Special Education from Kean University, and an M.Ed with a Certificate of Graduate Study in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Georgian Court University. Over the last 15 years, I have worked with children and adolescents as a teacher, childcare manager, and crisis interventionist. 2022-2023 will be my fifth year as a Special Education Teacher at Manville High School.

This year, in class, our academic courses include English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Life Skills, and Communications.  In addition, a functional curriculum of social skills, life skills, vocational skills, and growth mindset will be incorporated into our daily activities. This year's electives include Photography, Engineering, and Physical Education!

In addition to my full-day students, I also teach a course called "Unified Peer Leadership". This course is designed to encourage socialization and skill development in my students through consistent interactions with same-aged peers.  Unified Peer Leadership is ideal for students who have expressed interest in future careers in education, therapeutic services, or other direct care professions.  I look forward to further development of the Unified Peer Leadership program at Manville High School!

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy art, music, cooking, and NJ Devils hockey! I love having the opportunity to share my personal passions with my students in the classroom and I encourage them to do the same!
