She ensures information is relayed to keep us safe, and you can be sure that all procedures and protocols are followed. She communicates with staff long before and after school hours updating and sharing information. She is always cheerful, kind, and willing to go above and beyond. Roosevelt School is lucky to have Mrs. Hughes as part of our school community.

Mrs. Mattei has been at the forefront of health and safety within the school building since the onset of the pandemic. Up to the present time, she has been instrumental in collaborating with school staff, parents, students, and caregivers. Mrs. Mattei has balanced many items on her plate, mandated immunizations, middle school sports physicals, and the daily welfare of our 466 students. She has been the "go-to" for information regarding regulations, protocols, and consultation regarding all contact tracing practices. With tremendous gratitude, we recognize Mrs. Larissa Mattei as the ABIS Staff Member of the Month.

    Mrs. Marcie Varona

Mrs. Marcie Varona has been on the front lines since schools closed nearly two years ago. She was instrumental in helping Weston School with their reopening plans, took temperatures daily, and assured the school was properly sanitized. Mrs. Varona was right there when the arduous task of conducting contact tracing took place. She constantly is in contact with the local health department to assure students and staff receive the most up-to-date information. Mrs. Varona works long hours to ensure everyone is safe and goes well above her responsibilities as a school nurse. The Weston community is extremely fortunate to have such a kind and compassionate person as part of their team.
